Maintenance Management Training Course at Solverde Spa & Wellness Center

On May 21 and 22, the Solverde Spa & Wellness Center in Gaia hosted the ManWinWin team of consultants and six maintenance managers from various industrial sectors, ranging from Chemicals to Fisheries and Engineering, for an intensive Maintenance Management training course.

On May 21 and 22, the Solverde Spa & Wellness Center in Gaia hosted the ManWinWin team of consultants and six maintenance managers from various industrial sectors, ranging from Chemicals to Fisheries and Engineering, for an intensive Maintenance Management training course. The course, led by Hugo Cardoso, a ManWinWin consultant with extensive experience in the field, was a success, providing participants with a comprehensive immersion into the essential concepts, tools, and strategies for optimizing maintenance processes in their respective companies.

Fundamental Concepts of Maintenance Management & Optimization of Maintenance Processes

The first day of the course was dedicated to establishing a solid foundation of knowledge about the principles and fundamental practices of Maintenance Management. Through a dynamic and interactive approach, participants explored essential concepts and developed skills to make strategic decisions, optimize costs, and efficiently manage the organization’s assets and department.

On the second day, the focus was on organizing and optimizing maintenance processes, specifically:

  • Establishing an efficient functional structure for the organization’s machine park;
  • Standardizing maintenance asset nomenclature to facilitate communication and management.

Additionally, different strategies and types of maintenance were discussed, such as:

  • Understanding the principles and application of RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance);
  • Identifying various types of maintenance, such as predictive, corrective, preventive, and prescriptive, and their appropriate applications;
  • Defining clear and measurable objectives for maintenance.

Cost and material management in maintenance were also addressed:

  • Defining and structuring cost categories;
  • Organizing and optimizing material management;
  • Defining the Maintenance Scorecard.

A Successful Edition, According to Participants

Over two days, participants explored various topics in Maintenance Management, from cost control, increasing equipment productivity and reliability, implementing strategies like RCM and TPM, optimizing the machine park, managing materials and costs, to defining performance indicators to assess the success of the maintenance function. The dynamic and interactive approach of the course, combined with the instructor’s extensive experience, provided a rich learning environment where participants could share experiences, ask questions, and apply acquired knowledge to real scenarios.

The course evaluation by the participants highlighted its success, with an NPS (Net Promoter Score) of 9.4! This result shows that the Maintenance Management course is a valuable investment for companies, providing maintenance managers with the necessary tools and knowledge to optimize maintenance processes.  All of this took place in the fantastic environment provided by the Solverde Spa & Wellness Center in Gaia.
