Strengthening the connection between industry and academia, ManWinWin organized its first International Open Lecture, held remotely for students from the Faculty of Engineering at UNIAJC in Colombia.
UNIAJC, officially known as Institución Universitaria Antonio José Camacho, is a recognized higher education institution committed to technical excellence, innovation and the development of future engineering professionals. Through its engineering programs, the university promotes strong links between academic learning and real industrial challenges, preparing students for the evolving demands of modern industry.
The session was delivered by consultant João Nunes Marques within the Industrial Maintenance Management module, with the main objective of bringing practical industrial experience into the academic environment and exposing students to real-world maintenance management methodologies and technologies.
The lecture, titled “Maintenance Management Support Software: Presentation and Use of ManWinWin”, explored the growing role of CMMS solutions in the digital transformation of organizations. The session addressed how maintenance management software enables companies to improve maintenance planning and scheduling, increase equipment availability, reduce operational costs and create a structured environment for data collection, analysis and continuous improvement.
Drawing on his experience as a ManWinWin consultant, João Nunes Marques shared practical industrial use cases and implementation insights, illustrating how digital maintenance tools can support organizations in managing assets more effectively. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of accurate and reliable data, maintenance planning and control processes, KPI monitoring and the use of maintenance information to support more informed, efficient and sustainable decision-making.
The session also highlighted the evolution of maintenance management itself, from a traditionally reactive activity focused on repairs to a strategic business function that directly influences productivity, operational resilience, safety and competitiveness.
ManWinWin would like to thank the lecturer for the invitation and the students for their excellent participation, curiosity and engagement throughout the session. Initiatives such as this reinforce ManWinWin’s commitment to knowledge sharing, innovation and strengthening the bridge between academia and industry, a key step in preparing the next generation of engineers for the opportunities and challenges of digital industry and Industry 4.0.
